First-run setup, boxes that keep their shape, and cancel
0.0.16 added plans, a zip backup, and Make Public. 0.0.17 is the first hour with a new account, software boxes that stop stretching, and the export job when it takes a while.
First-run setup
New accounts walk three steps: you (name, email, password), time zone, and your first horde. Continue and Back only move between panels. Nothing is created — and the invite is unused — until Finish.
Time zone is used for worklog dates, exports, and mail. You can change name and time zone later under Account. Horde name can change under Horde settings.
Software boxes
Photographing a box is meant to match the cardboard, not a crate.
- Pick a side in the crop tool. The crop locks to that face’s aspect ratio from the box dimensions.
- Use as sits on the same row as rotate and mirror. The preview no longer has Retake or a second Use as.
- Gallery mini thumbs use the real box size.
- Zoom scales the whole box. Faces do not stretch. Default zoom fills the viewer.
Pages
Moving around the catalog no longer snaps. The nav and footer stay put; the main column fades and slides. If you have reduced motion on, it stays instant.
Cancel an export
Horde settings → Details → Export now has Cancel on a queued or running job.
- If it was only queued, you wait one minute before starting another.
- If it had already started, you wait as long as it had been running, at least one minute. Three minutes of work, three minutes of wait.
- The 30-day wait after a successful zip is unchanged. An administrator can still reset either wait.
Cancel stops the worker. A Kubernetes Job is deleted; a local worker notices the row and exits.
While an export is running, the progress bar is a moving barberpole. It is not a spinner next to the button, and it does not sit on the panel after the zip is ready. Ready jobs show the download link. Failed and cancelled jobs show their status. Start export still disables the button until the job is done or cancelled.
Billing and small fixes
If you cancel a paid horde plan, Horde settings says Cancels on the period-end date. Plus and Pro stay active until then.
Saving a rack in the inspector now keeps the name and the shelves. A missing page keeps your signed-in nav instead of the public Sign in bar.
