Terms of Service

Effective August 30, 2026. RetroTracker is operated by Nybbles and Bytes Studios, LLC (“we”).

These terms govern your use of RetroTracker at retrotracker.net and related instances we host. By creating an account, joining a horde, or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use RetroTracker. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

The service

RetroTracker is a catalog for retrocomputers, parts, software, books, worklogs, photos, and storage locations. Features may change. We do not warrant that a catalog entry is complete or accurate.

We take appropriate steps to maintain uptime and availability, but we make no availability guarantees. We provide an export solution so you can keep your own backups, and we expect you to use it periodically to protect your data. We also take steps to maintain the data stores, but you have ultimate control of your data through that export in the face of disasters. We do not guarantee that we will not lose data in a disaster; it is your responsibility to safeguard your data.

Accounts

You must be at least 13. Provide a real email you control. You are responsible for your password, passkeys, and two-factor codes, and for activity under your account. Keep invites you send in trusted hands. We may suspend or delete accounts that are abusive, unpaid where a paid plan is required to keep data, or that violate these terms.

Hordes and content

A horde is a shared workspace. The owner controls membership, visibility, and the storage plan. You retain rights in content you upload (catalog records, photos, notes, labels, and links). You grant us a license to store, display, and back up that content as needed to run RetroTracker for your horde.

If a horde is public, anyone with the link can see the machines, worklogs, and photos the owner has published. Do not put secrets in a public horde.

You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not use RetroTracker for illegal content, malware, spam, or to harass others. Photos must be of your collection or otherwise authorized — not other people’s private spaces or minors in a sexual context.

USAGE OF THE PHOTOS FEATURE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN RETRO COMPUTER RELATED MATERIAL IN ANY WAY IS GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND POSSIBLE TERMINATION. Nybbles and Bytes Studios, LLC is the sole party responsible for determining what is unsuitable, and no appeals process is provided. If you do not agree to this, you must discontinue use of the service.

Availability

RetroTracker was built specifically for the United States. Access over the open internet is allowed, but customers are currently limited to residents of the United States using United States financial instruments only. We reserve the right to expand availability in the future and the right to refuse service at our sole discretion.

Storage and billing

Each horde starts on a free 1 GB photo quota. Paid plans (currently 10 GB and 100 GB) are billed monthly to the horde through Stripe, not to each member. Prices are shown on the horde settings page before you pay. Stripe processes cards; we do not store full card numbers. Failed payments can freeze new photo uploads when you are over quota. Cancel anytime in the Stripe billing portal; access to the paid cap continues through the paid period unless we say otherwise at checkout.

Acceptable use

Do not probe, scrape, or overload the service; do not attempt to access another horde you were not invited to; do not resell RetroTracker as your own product. QR labels and short links are for your hardware, not for phishing.

Abuse

Report abuse to abuse@retrotracker.net. We treat abuse complaints seriously. Nybbles and Bytes Studios, LLC retains sole discretion for evaluating abuse and sole responsibility for addressing abuse complaints. Malicious abuse complaints will not be tolerated.

Our role

Catalog values, “working” flags, and worklogs are your notes, not appraisals or professional advice. Amazon product links on the Labels page are affiliate links; we may earn a commission if you buy through them.

Termination

You may stop using RetroTracker at any time. Horde owners can remove members. We may remove content or close accounts that violate these terms. After closure, we may delete catalog data and photos when they are no longer needed to operate or to meet legal duties.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is.” We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent allowed by law. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Nybbles and Bytes Studios, LLC is not liable for lost collections, lost photos, lost profits, or indirect damages, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount paid to us for the affected horde in the three months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after a change posted on this page means you accept the new terms. Material changes will be noted here with a new effective date.

Governing law

Nybbles and Bytes Studios, LLC is registered in the State of Texas. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, except where interstate commerce applies, in which case the laws of the United States govern.
